Pension forum: State Sen. Susan Garrett, D-Lake Forest, and state Reps. Karen May, D-Highland Park, and Elaine Nekritz, D-Northbrook, will host a public forum March 12 to look at public pension systems across the nation. Ron Snell, senior fellow and public pension expert from the National Conference of State Legislators will present an overview of public pension issues across the country and talk about what other states have done to change retirement plans for state employees. The session will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the training room of the Highland Park Public Safety Building, 1677 Old Deerfield Road, Highland Park.
