State Sen. Susan Garrett, D-29th, will host a biotechnology forum 10 a.m. to noon March 11 at Oakton Community College's Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave.

The seminar, "Bridging the Gap between Industry and the Classroom," will discuss challenges in talent retention and acquisition in the biotechnology field; skills needed in the next generation workforce; and the potential role of the Illinois Biotechnology Industry Organization to enhance the profession. In addition, Oakton will provide a brief overview of its developing biotechnology curricula.
