North Shore gynecologist Dr. Tammy Novak will be holding a Hope Clinic for Uninsured Women from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on June 6 and 7. Her office is located at 2634 Patriot Blvd, Suite C, Glenview. The event, partially sponsored by the combined efforts of pharmaceutical companies, local laboratories, non-profits, and private hospitals, will provide free comprehensive gynecological exams to uninsured women.

Novak reached out to State Sen. Susan Garrett in an effort to secure certain services for the event, meanwhile sharing her vision to bring awareness to the importance of preventative care, early detection, and the need to make these crucial health services available to everyone, especially in today's economic climate.

"It is my hope that the women of Illinois realize the importance of preventative care in detecting cervical and breast cancer. Early detection is the key to finding effective treatment options and survival," says Garrett.

The event is open to uninsured women only. Patients will be required to sign a release stating that they are currently uninsured and that document will be notarized.
