GARRETT TO HOLD MEETING ON ZION NUCLEAR POWER PLANT

HIGHWOOD, Illinois – On Saturday, April 9, 2011, State Senator Susan Garrett
(D – Lake Forest) will be hosting a public information meeting in Lake Forest to discuss the decommissioning and site restoration of the Zion Nuclear Station.

“In light of the recent events in Japan, my office has received many inquiries as to the status of the decommissioning of the Zion nuclear power plant,” said Garrett.

Mr. Patrick Daly, Manager of ZionSolutions, the company responsible for the decommissioning process will give a presentation that will include an overview of the decommissioning project, a description of the current status of activities at the facility and those activities scheduled for the remainder of 2011.  The presentation will also address events at Fukushima, Japan with a Q & A to follow.
