GARRETT CONVENES MEETING WITH LOCAL LEADERS TO DISCUSS BACK-UP PLANS DURING POWER OUTAGES |
|||||||||
HIGHWOOD, IL—As a result of the most recent rash of power outages, Majority Caucus Whip and State Senator Susan Garrett (D-Lake Forest), together with State Representative Elaine Nekritz (D-Northbrook) and State Representative Karen May (D-Highland Park), have invited local government leaders to discuss contingencies to keep communities operating when there are power outages. “During the last power outage, many residents called our office asking if we could have state or local police direct traffic on Route 41 and other roads because of inoperative traffic lights. We need to look at ways to communicate with our residents during these outages, and help manage the crises without relying on ComEd,” said Garrett. “By bringing communities together, we can address these concerns and find ways to collaborate during these types of emergency situations.”
