GARRETT AND SANDOVAL TO HOLD HEARING TO
REVIEW METRA'S PROPOSED REDUCTION OF SERVICES AND POSSIBLE RATE HIKES

HIGHWOOD, Illinois – Majority Caucus Whip and State Senator Susan Garrett (D-Lake Forest), Vice-Chairwomen of the Senate Committee on Local Government, together with State Senator Martin Sandoval (D-Chicago), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Transportation will be holding a hearing to Review Metra's Proposed Reduction of Services and Possible Rate Hikes.

“Metra is moving much too quickly in promoting reduction of services and possible fare hikes without any public input or justification,” said Garrett. “It is critical for the thousands of Metra riders that we hear from Metra on other cost-cutting approaches, such as elimination of unnecessary lobbying contracts, before we move ahead with service reductions.”
