HIGHWOOD, IL – Illinois residents seeking basic insurance information can get help from the Illinois Insurance Hotline, a statewide, toll-free source of information according to State Senator Susan Garrett (D – Lake Forest). The Illinois Insurance Hotline is an industry sponsored consumer outreach that has assisted thousands of Illinois residents since it opened in 1990. “The Illinois Insurance Hotline is a resource people can turn to when they have general questions, want to research a prospective company, or need direction in dealing with an insurance problem. Complimentary educational literature on a variety of topics is also available,” Garrett said. Garrett added, “Hotline consultants do not sell insurance or make recommendations. However, they can help residents make informed buying decisions by providing a prospective insurer’s financial standing and complaint record.” Contact the Illinois Insurance Hotline by telephone (1-800-444-3338) or e-mail (insurancehotline@illinoisinsurance.org). Consultants are available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Residents can call or e-mail the Hotline to obtain basic information on auto, home, life and health insurance issues or request educational materials. |
