HIGHWOOD, IL— State Senator Susan Garrett (D – Lake Forest) will be holding an official Illinois State Senate Commerce Committee subject matter hearing, "Fostering more new business in Illinois: How can business, government and academia work together to improve our state's economy?" "With the state is facing significant economic challenges, we must be proactive in our efforts to make Illinois attractive to entrepreneurs and businesses of all sizes. The Committee anticipates hearing testimony from community colleges, the Illinois and Chicagoland Chambers of Commerce, the Small Business Administration, the National Federation of Independent Business, the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association, the Illinois Science and Technology Coalition, local workforce boards, and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
